I too have watched ADW's progress since his first post some 18 months ago and it has been inspiring. He is becoming a talented builder in no small part because of this forum, as well as others. I would hate to see him or others turn away from this forum because it became poisoned with issues outside its purpose.

Wise words rayd. Gentlemen, we are all here because we build models. Some are already great at it and some are starting out but everyone is improving their skills with every build and this forum is one of the main reasons why. May I suggest that we return to our hobby and our passion which is model building - the construction of great works of aviation art (to the beholder at least) and consign this verbal spat to history. I for one have a great deal still to learn and maybe a little to share and I'd like to think we can move on.

Of course I do know about the childs tale, but I was unsure of David's tone on the use of it, I did detect a slight hint of sarcasm to what I thought were genuine, wise and heartfelt comments by Alex....

Alex is a good lad, and a top builder IMO. He is an example of the "can do" attitude that can be missing is so many, turning him off would be a disaster.

The problem is we don't all know David, so if a comment can be open for interpretation and it may be deemed to be hutful or sarcasitic then it's better left unsaid...

I think that this is more important than ensuring the tittle of your thread is spot on - would you agree David?

The world has become far too "sensitive". Boo-hooey. I have also asked seemingly dumb questions with easy in front of you explanations and similar responses. I was not offended! I worked in motorcycle shops for 20 years and my first mentor would throw wrenches at me if I asked a stupid question or one that had already been answered previously. I did NOT cry and go home. I DID however pay close attention!! You should hear how bikers "playfully" talk to each other( can't actually give an example 'cause there all to crude) Remember when men were men and sheep were nervous? Put on your big boy panties and suck it up!!

P.S. You did notice mr. Duckett took probably a half hour of his time to give you a clear reply.. with pictures. I honestly hope this doesn't sour David and other skilled builders on this forum from posting.

Please close this topic, enough has been said already and we have all moved on.
