Good morning,
I have learned so much from all of you on this forum, way more info than I could ever find when I started this as a teenager in the early 90's. I have finally figured out how to build light and straight enough to get my models to fly but now I'm a bit more interested in a few of the finer points of rubber power. I am currently winding by hand or using a cheap battery-powered winder (see Joe Crouse's post "new electric winder vs. tan rubber" and you'll see the exact thing that I'm using posted by WIDDOG) but I would like to switch to a better winder or way of hooking the rubber to the prop shaft. I have been using Peck Polymers props, bushings, and shafts mounted in thin plywood circles as an "adjustable nose" (T-28, Hellcat - models that are more cylindrical at the nose) and I have been stretch winding with good results.
I'd love to see some photos of your winders, how you hook the rubber to the prop shaft, etc. I'll try to post some photos of my setup when I get home and maybe some tips can be offered. Thanks.
