newbie introduction

Hello all,

This is my first post on this forum. I am absolutely newbie in the world of aeromodelling. I just have ordered a PC6-Porter / Rubber Powered on an online store and the kit is on its way towards me. I am going to build this model for my 9 year old son.

I have read various posts from all of you on this forum. At this moment when I haven't yet seen my first kit ever, there is no questions about how to build my plane, but it would be a good idea to get all required tools and other things. I just wanted to know what is included in kit and what I need to arrange myself.

You will need :
glue, white
wax paper
xacto knife
sand paper
pins

One more thing you will need is a building board. My first board was a piece of plywood, flat and straight but too hard. I now use balsa building board, but a ceiling tile would work. A good idea is to set aside a designated area that will not be disturbed or be in the way of other family members.

Good for you and welcome!
If your son is interested in this you are soooo lucky! I tried to get my boys involved in this sort of thing, but it was more like torture to them than fun.
My best advice to you is enjoy yourselves, take your time and don't overthink it. Keep us posted please.
