Hi guys,

Just joined and would like to say hi. As the weather over here has been rubbish for the past few weeks (no r/c flying) I desided to build an old Guillow's Spirit of St. Louis that I bought off ebay a few years ago and was collecting dust on the shelf.

Must admit I enjoyed the build as it was very calming given the lack of flying. I am planning to take it over to Scotland for the EKMFC concours night in a weeks time, on the 13th of this month.

Nice wood work! I didnt realize the spirit had so much wood. Glue joints look fantastic. What glue did you use?

Where did you get the metal (aluminum?) foil?

How did you do the engine turning on the cowling? Looks like you are quite a craftsman.

He just puts the pencil eraser on the tinfoil and turns it, then moves to a new spot and does the same. Looks Terrific!
