I've been googling for the laser cut version of this kit, at a discount, and am not having much luck. I think discounted it sells for around $35, factory direct about $46. Can anyone recommend a good supplier?

Yup, A.C. supply has about the best price and you can also choose your shipping preferences with them too making it the lowest price. I've bought all but 2 of my guillows from them and unlike one of my others they seem to have a fairly recent stock as the wood wasn't degraded from age, unlike one I bought elsewhere.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this question but I was waiting to get activated on the message board. Thank you Mark for taking care of it. I do believe I have found the cheapest place to get these new kits. I cannot speak for the customer service as of yet. I just ordered them Tuesday and they are set to ship out today. The company is hobbywarehouse.com. The price is $29.32. The link http://www.hobbywarehouse.com/Messersch ... -Laser-Cut I have ordered the Mustang and the Spitfire. I hope to have them next week. I had bought the entire set of 400 series kits from AtoZ when they were on clearance but they were the old die cut kits. The wood weighed between 17 and 24 lb/cuft. I will build these kits but will replace most of the wood. I build for FAC competition. I do like the designs of some of these kits. I was never crazy about plastic parts but apparently there are some really great hints to handling them so they fit better. This message board really has some experienced Guillow builders. Most all other rubber powered builders who build for competition have almost all but abandoned the Guillow's line in favor of lighter more competitive designs. I think some of these designs are great and I hope the wood selection gets better. I have built a couple of the 900 series kits and they have flown very well. I am hopeful the wood in the 400 series laser cut kits is good so I can use the kit as supplied. I'll keep everyone posted as to how my purchase goes.

No problems so far. I am expecting the kits either tomorrow or Saturday. The Customer Service people that handle this company (it seems to be a large group of web stores that are handled by one group) have been great. Every time I called or sent and email they responded quickly and professionally. I have to say that when it comes to being a customer I am a pain in the a**. I cannot complain so far. When I get the kits I will let everyone if they are the correct kits and what the wood looks like.

When I checked the site it said the only one available at this time is the 109 and there is a wait for the others. Also was wondering about the wingspan on some of these as I thought they were the same as the die cut versions and it says about 3" shorter on the guillows site. Anybody verify?

The plastic cowl on my Spitfire 403lc came with a dent in it, and if I try to wiggle it into shape, the plastic will likely crack. I have sent 2 emails. Tuesday and yesterday asking how to replace it because it is holding up completion, and I am still waiting for a reply. This seems very unlike Guillows, but, oh well.....

On the site where it says waiting for the others, it only means the image on the site is not there yet. They have the entire series available in laser cut and in stock.

My wife called me at work to say that the kits came in. They are indeed laser cut. Next I will weigh the wood and let you know. I'd say at this point, go ahead and order. Great price with good service. Good luck guys!

OK, I weighed the wood and the average sheet is around 9 to 12# balsa. Not ideal but not quite the heart of the oak Guillow's wood I'm used to seeing. I will build them with this wood. These are going to be for FAC WWII Mass Launch events and I like those to be pretty tough models to put up with a lot of constant flying and any wind/weather conditions. So long story short, you should all feel confident to buy the laser cut 400 series from hobbywarehouse.com. Good luck to everybody who is looking to order these kits.
