Ask other modelers for a little help / knowledge ?

it seems to me that the seller joined the forum in hopes to get some interest in selling the plane, since it was his first post....

Do some searches or browse back in the forum a bit and you'll see that almost all rare kits offered for sale here are by people that registered for the forum just to sell them. I purchased a huge lot of kits from just such person and before they sent me the kits they were kind enough to scan the Mosquito plans for Bill. These are often nice people trying to find a good home with someone who will appreciate the kit.

Except from the seller's email to me: "[...] I'VE BEEN BUILDING & FLYING FOR ALMOST 70 YEARS, & JUST LOVE ALL THE 'GUILLOW MODELS'"

What they said. I was attracted by how low key and limited to model talk this forum is. Perhaps a compromise- set up a separate section entirely for members to exchange, swap, and sell things others might want or need. That way, the forum would remain pristine, but if you were looking for something to buy, you could by choice go there and look. Just my opinion- others may vary.

this is a good point. i have trouble with the SFA in some spots because of how the talk varies so much from building model planes.

if you look at the forum rules, it clearly states that guillows wanted this forum to be for talking about model planes. i dont see why we dont follow these rules more closely.

Excellent idea. I don't want to have to scroll through pages of ads to find a poster that needs help. It would be handy to have a selling section if I wanted to buy some kit and could get it cheaper there than on ebay. Let's see what everyone else thinks...

There is already a great site to buy and sell stuff, it's called e bay. Leave this site as it is.

No, this is a kit that some rude bloke listed for sale in the Guillow's RC conversion list thread that Smokin' Beaver moderates over at RCGroups. What cooks my goose is that the forum has a whole area devoted to buying and selling and he had the gal to list it for sale to Guillow's fans for $125 shipped. (sarcasm)

How am I supposed to keep everyone supplied with B-29's if we outlaw their sale to people that enjoy building Guillow's kits?

I agree with Gramps, leave the buying and selling to other forums, sites, etc. This site is not for that.
