Rubber powered flight..Krylon Clear or 50/50 to seal tissue

Postby yobdab » Fri Feb 25, 2011 11:24 pm

I know this question has been asked before but the answer still eludes me...simple I guess.

Would using Krylon Clear make the model too heavy to fly rubber powered?

Would using more then one coat of 50/50 make the model too heavy to fly rubber powered?

Also how would you seal with a 50/50 glue mixture and keep the tissue from sticking to every spar and former and wing rib? Wouldn't this affect the overall looks of the final product?

Also can you paint a flier?

Sorry for all the questions

No. Not from my experience. I use Krylon or a clear acrylic spray on my models and it does not have any measurable affect on flying performance.

I have not used the 50/50 to seal tissue. So, I can't help you on that one.
