Whoa! Bill...112 inches? That's like 1 1/2 men tall! Lotsa luck...and buy a lot of balsa, especially for those long stringers. Maybe just build it from the kit and plan it out just for the fun of it. Uh...wife surprised me...at work she wanted to get that "big plane" I was hinting about and apparently ordered a B-25 Mitchell, because it was "on sale with free shipping." Okay, guess its gonna be the Mitchell in lieu of the DC-3.
Well, so much for the DC-3, I still have a Corgi model and old Monogram plastic one in the basement.... so if anybody has tips on the Jimmy Doolittle warplane, send 'em over. Remember, I'm the guy who had trouble finding acceptable glues these days. I decided on a combo of "stuff", found Titebond galore, and I've learned enough here and a couple other sites so as not to have to roam brick and mortar places like a zombie trying to get help.
Those planes by David and the other guys appear amazing, especially with regard to covering and finish. Can't be just paper...most likely thin balsa, or silk. I'm gonna face this eventually with that Mitchell, which I read somewhere is a tough time consuming build. We'll get it done, somehow, someday.
112 inches, eh?
...keep us posted Mr. Parker Regards Ray
