Went to Hobby Lobby today. They only had one kit on the shelf and it was on clearance.

I noticed that all they have now is the 900 series mustang, the rest were on clearance.

Unfortunatly, none of the Hobby Lobbys in the Atlanta area carry balsawood kits any longer :(
Thank God for HobbyTown USA :)

Hobby Town USA in Columbia SC only has the wood wing kits that cost about $4. There is a hobby store near me that carries several, but my work hours make it hard to get there while they are open.

After touring the stores near me, it looks like they are all following a master plan for display setups. The 900 series Mustangs are next to the rockets, and under the hanging planes and gliders, and two rows over, on the drafting aisle is a long display of the clearance models and other "hobby" stuff. I picked up a Javelin for $7.79 for the Guillows Challenge, there were a couple of 900 series Skyraiders a P-40 and the build by number Cessna and Cub. Looks like these kits are going to be scarce at HL for a while.

Hi Guys,

Report from the Pacific NW...

There is a new Hobby Lobby near me, but as you say they do not carry much, and mostly the smaller kits. I went there to look, but probably will not go back as it is farther away for me. There is also a Hobby Town and there selection of Guillow kits is small. I have shown my models here and presented some of my models in display contests. I also saw some Guillow kits at Tacoma Train & Hobbies. At my favorite source for plastic models, Skyway Hobbies has started to carry the 4500 series.

Hobby Bench, 2 locations in Phoenix AZ. I go there when I visit my Dad. They have the COMPLETE line of Guillow kits.

My usual source for Guillow kits is from AC Supply. When my "wish list" gets over $100 I place an order with them and then shipping is free. Moreover you are buying the kits at wholesale price!

Mitch

:!: UPDATE: I was just at Skyway Model Shop and I see he is now carrying Guillows and Dumas kits! I asked the owner if he would hang one of my Guillow models... We'll see if he can make room! I want to show off my model not for myself but to get young kids wanting to build these fun and great kits!

There are alot of Hobby Towns In Philly, and they have a good selection of Guillows, buy no other brands like Dumas, or RC kits, but they are very nice about ordering what you want.
