and by the way, be sure to read the instructions on that paint. They ain't just a kiddin' about the right environment while applying it...

I mention nothing of a drain. The idea is to put a U shape in your fill and vent lines so you don't have a direct shot to the atmosphere which helps prevent spillage of fuel. The tank sits with the pointed side down,engine supply to bottom, and your vent and fill will be at 90 and 270 degrees. Some people don't bother with the fill and vent line detail I describe here and you can tell by how much fuel gets on the plane during flight.

ok. so it sits on top of the rectanclular prism's point. how akward. gunna be fun trying to get it to stay there. i understand the whole bending the fill and overflow lines now.

here is my fuel tank progress so far. mounted to a piece of 1/16" balsa to hold it straight-

and now glued inside of the plane. note the fuel tubeing comeing out the left front of the plane, and eventually will go to the carb/ fuel intake

How large is the fuel tank? What brand?

I have a similiar tank mounted in one of my planes, but with the bent end on the top side, does it matter? I'm doing some repairs and I can adjust it if nessesary.

Nice progress so far, I like how you installed the fuel tank. Can't wait to see the finished model.

pulsepilot- i pumped water through each of the left and right holes on the fuel tank, as it is mounted here. both can serve as an intake, and over flow. i found the best way to stick this thing in is in fact the way it is now.

continueing the fuse, getting stringers on FINALLY!

End of the day, progress-

just have to add a couple more stringers on the bottom, and a couple little ones at the tail, and its sanding time.

In your last picture of your corsair's fuse, which is looking very good, a smaller fuse in the background. what is it for?

squish- that is a fuse that i designed and built from scratch. nothing fancy. i just used some graph paper, ruler, and a pencil. i the parts out myself as well.

the pointed part of the tank should point to the outside of the circle.
It may work the way you have it, but not very well.

ive heard so many different ways that this thing goes in, htat it probably can go in either way. the other thing is that ive seen a few different perfect wedge tanks and there are a few different ones...

he did a nice job on that... i wouldnt want to add all sorts of wireing unless i was flying it, so i feel like that was a waste.

this thing has been fun so far!

some progress. ive finished adding the stringers except for two under the elevator (in they pics they are not there but as of now they are)

got the fuse sanded up

and the covering begins!

part of the wings shrunk-

im not worried about warps, not only are these frames pretty strong, but it u control, and you can practically make a brick fly with U control.
