1000 Series Hellcat to Static

Ask other modelers for a little help / knowledge ?

thanks. i wish my camera phone was more HD, but...

when i get into the final stages ill take pics with a nicer camera. its faster with my Phone. i realize how it takes much less time to cover the frames than to build them, or at least for me on this one. i did have to make all of the mods for the moveing parts and all...

ive been a little busy with other stuff. ive been preparing for a backpacking trip for a month. sad to say no building then. i leave the 22nd, so ill try to get as much as i can done on my hellcat.

here is what i have now-

a closer look-

note that my hinges are only secured with expoxy on the actual flap itself, ie the elevator, rudder, ailerons/flaps. i will secure them after dope and paint most likely. i used plastic from the canopy (you know how there is always thin excess plastic around the canopy) they seem to be working well. also note the dowels. those are the begginings of my rockets.

how pretty the covering looks up to the light-

Nice work ADW. May be my next build after I finish the Corsair. I like the control surfaces. What paint are you going to use?

im not sure what kind of paint i want yet. i bought some testors and modelmasters paint in those little glass jars for the rockets and pilot and the little stuff. i might airbrush water based colors on, or spray paint. not sure what i want yet. i still have lots of time to decide though. open to suggestions.

thanks jens.

here is the fuse so far now. i have the cockpit installed (i have had it built for a while, just didnt install it till now) i have been covering along slowly but surely on this one. i suppose i could cover in less pieces, but it isnt worth it to me to get any kind of imperfections. i am more likly to avoid those in smaller sections. i think once this thing is laser cut it will be much easier to cover in larger sections, not to mention building it.

got some more work done on covering, and good progress on fin details. i figure i will try to have anything that needs dope for sealing ready to go so i can do it all at once. i will dope the rockets so to seal them and ready them for paint.
