I see a few modelers use "foam board" for shaping wing tips. I like that idea, my problem being what kind of foam board would I use? Any help would be, as always, very much appreciated. :?:

are you thinking of that ruff "foam" that is like sandpaper except squishy as it is made out of foam?

I don't think so- I am referring to the white stuff that is glued to the wing tip "formers" or whatever that flat, more or less elliptical piece of sheet balsa that the stringers in the wing- the longitudinal ones- are glued to., and sanded into shape to make nice wing tips- not the abrasive but the item that is shaped.

what you do is take regular dollar tree foam board, soak a peice of it in water for about ten minutes, (that should be more than enough time), peel off the paper covering so you have just the foam, and glue it on.
You peel off the paper because that makes it so you can actually sand the foam, the paper doesn't allow this.
