What Should I bring?

Postby Squishyp38 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 10:47 am

So, I am going tommorrow to go to a summer camp for 2 weeks, and I know I will have some free time while I am there and that there is a relatively large open area at the camp, but I was wondering which models I should bring to fly. Here are the choices:
Guillow:
javelin
400 series
p-51
typhoon
500 series
hellcat
tbf avenger
Other:
Small flying arts mini ten
trillium me109
I think I might bring 2 or three models, just don't know which ones...
The P-38 is arguably the best... Forget that, it is THE BEST fighter of world war two, and is epically AWESOME!

What kind of camp is it? where are you going?

I just got back from watching 7 12-13 yr olds at a Scout Camp and I wouldn't imagine the models will survive the travel or being packed.

My experience is that you take things camping that you won't be broken-hearted about losing. I've had backpacks stolen out of cars, knives lost, tents ripped, etc. over 25 years of camping so I've gotten wary about what I bring that I can't watch 24-7. Have fun!

Don't worry, I definately will NOT have anything stolen........ The camp I am going to is camp Berea in New Hampshire, and it is a Christain camp, so,..... no stealing.

Well, maybe ruined is more likely than stolen. I'm always amazed at how many Boy Scouts, when the first point of the Scout Law is that Scout is trustworthy, fail to be that.

Anyway, take whatever model will pique the interest of others. Just like a good Christian introduces others to the gospel, maybe a good modeler introduces others to the hobby. The Hellcat is my favorite of the ones you have listed.

That is right! keep preachin' Brother! (you preach the gospel and the model)
my Hellcat is my second favorite plane and model ever. my p-38 beats it, though, which, by the way, already has the center nacelle and one fuse done!
