covering wet

I am going to try covering wet for the first time. By wet I mean damp tissue over 50% Elmer's. The question is do I apply the glue mixture over the entire section to be covered or just the edges? If the entire surface, then how do I keep the glue wet? ......Thanks

i usually go around the perimeter with thinned glue. the glue isnt applied so there is more than 1/8". less is ok if there is a 1/16" stringer or something of the likes. i let the glue dry for a little while so when the water hits it is sticks very well, instead of thinning the already thinned glue so much it doesnt stick well. you take your tissue (should only really have a 1/2" tag end on all sides past the perimeter, sometimes a little moree) and spray it so it is moist. it shouldnt be dripping wet. i apply the tissue, starting with one end of it first. which end, depends on what you are covering, and where the end is going. then, you try to make it as smooth as you can get. around all sides. do note that sometimes there might be little wrinkles when it is wet, and if you cannot get them out then just wait for it to dry. usually the tissue will shrink and those will go away.

this is what i did with my hell cat, as it was pretty much all covered wet. get your hands on some silkspan, and try covering wet with that. its easy to work with wet, and i prefer it that way too. hope this helps.
