The cockpit coaming is just thin plastic irrigation pipe from the hardware store split down the middle and then painted. Works a treat. The engine is painted with silver spraypaint. The engine was built according to tips provided by David D or John O (or both). These chaps are master builders and you should look at their builds, as well as many other great builders, on www.virtualaerodrome.com Cheers

Thank you all. I just placed an order with Tower. I am feeling a little guilty because I am constantly asking for help, but haven't offered much yet in return, but when I can, I will. This is my favorite board of all time, and everyone here seems to be very considerate, knowledgeable, and willing to share. I hope I can live up to the classy standards of this forum. Szvp, i feel like you shouldnt worry about asking for help. it is a BIG part of what the board was put up for. nothing to be ashamed of. it is ok if you cant offer much help in return as there are so many people on this board that will (im sure) gladly make up for it.

Szyp, thanks for the very nice offer to secure kits from the States. Thanks to the miracle that is Ebay and a very good exhange rate, I have mode models up in my ceiling than I can build in my lifetime. Really appreciate the offer though. The forum is all about sharing knowledge, no-one is born with it and before you know it, it will be you giving guidance to others so keep asking as it's helpful to everyone reading the board. Thank you all for the nice comments. They really have meaning to me. I built my last kit perhaps at age 14, which was 50 years ago. A lot of things have changed in the kits offered since then, but the basics of test fit, go slow, have patience, and learn are still something I understand much better now, and with a little help from my friends I will shake the rust off and get better.
