Cessna Skyhawk to U Control

Special thanks to David Duckett for the kit.


Another U control. This time, hopefully it will go better than my corsair. I will put the fuel tank on the CG in the fuse, to avoid what happened last time. It should make it easier to control when it is flying. I will use my .09 Cox medallion, and my perfect wedge tank. (I have to find my .09 engine...) I will build straight from the kit as usual, with few mods besides the mod of moving the fuel tank back.

David, I suppose you will have to bear through it when I tell you the parts are dumb only a couple of times.

a.. I've used the .051 on this plane before, and know it'll fly great.

b... .051 has an attached fuel tank, so I don't have to fight with what you'll go thru... (worried about your fuel line length... we'll see...)

Some progress-

bellcrank installed. There is a lot of space for a fuel tank in the canopy area, and it can be right on the CG.

It's a nice looking aircraft isn't it? Looking forward to soing the outcome Alex and Bill.

PS I have the plan for the Veron version of this, it's a lot simpler but a nice little free flighter if you're interested Alex....

nope they never are. It's frustrating sometimes. Even the new re-tooled diecut kits are a bit of a let down. They are much improved, but I have found it is still a lot of work fixing them up after being die crunched.

Got lucky on this one... 20 bucks on E-bay, and
it has real plywood parts instead of the "space age"
