Guillow's Cessna 172 Skyhawk Kit Number: 802
Wing Span: 36"
Scale: 1/12
http://www.parkerinfo.com/ap83.htmi used CA to put a sheet of 1/32" balsa over the string. then,
i wraped it all up in some masking tape. might add some balsa here and
there, but it is looking pretty bullet proof. let me know how you do
your nose gear.
Same as you, only no string, no 1/32" (I used 1/8") no CA, (I use yella glue) and no masking tape...
I trace the outline of the gear wire in ink onto the 1/8" stock, and then cut a groove in the face of the part removing the ink. Fill the groove with yella glue, and clamp it up. Watch the glue dry, then install, then watch the glue dry some more...
Firewallage. Even tho this kit came with real plywood parts, not the new fangled laytex stuff, I'm making a 1/4" ply firewall that will simply last longer, work better, and be very attractive to airplanes of the opposite persuasion...
Alex, are you making the "break away" wing struts, or... I would do it another way, but I've done this before, and know that they work as advertised if built according to the plan... soooo....
More soonest...
