So I confess to a little frustration. For the life of me I can't get decals to turn out proper. Heres the facts:
-Surface: EasyBuilt domestic tissue sealed with 2 coats of 50/50 midwest aerogloss clear/thinner. light dusting of krylon gloss clear on top where the decals go. surface feels smooth and has a slight sheen.
- Micro scale products Decal Set and decal sol used.
-method: decals set in warm water for 10-ish seconds, set on a towel until the decal slides. excess water is blotted away. decal set is brushed on the surface, decal placed. Then decal sol brushed over decal.
in the past I'd had touble with the decal sticking, that is fixed, the issue now is that the tissue sags slightly when the decal is placed, and since the decal doesn't "sag" (i.e. expand) with the tissue, when the whole thing dries the decal is scrunched up and full of wrinkles.
So I've got to be doing something wrong, since I've seen pictures of beautiful decals on these models. what is it? I don't have a photo right now, I neglected to take one before bed last night and didn't have time on my way out the door this morning, but I can take one this afternoon. Thanks for any advice
