A build log would have helped others learn to build from plans as well, especially when it comes to the clear parts. Did you vacuum form those?

Build Log Sikorsky R6B/V
1. Starting at the nose, the machine gun barrel is made from the scrap top section of a fishing pole and eye dropper
2. Cockpit nose mad from the top of a Starbucks drinks container, from the Motorway services UK
3 Windows scrap clear plastic. window surrounds strp styrene mad by Evergreen scale models of Woodinville WA98072 U S A item No 156.
4. Wheels off Ebay.
5. Wheel axles and brass nuts made from an old carriage clock.
6. Rotor blade centre assembly, made from lid of spray can, with brass electric connectors stripped from plastic cover, for retaining rotor blades, that you
can't see.
7 Rotor blades made from balsa wood.
8 Decals supplied by Sail-RC.com Triston Wellham http://www.bec.co.uk(mad from vinyl easy to fix, Triston will send you catalogue .
9 Rear propeller. from local hobby shop, shaft and nut from carriage clock.
10 Body made form balsa wood, sanded to has finer finish as possible, then 3 coats of white PVA glue sanded between coats, let coats fully dry.
11 3 coats of grey primer paint, cut back with T-Cut. 6 coats of gloss spray paint cut back with T-Cut to a fine finish, then polished Triple Wax Car polish.

Interior Finish

12 Pilots are from the Fireman Sam range obtainable from Asda or Walmart USA?
13 Centre tube to rotor blades 15mm to accommodate rubber band to hold rotor blades in place.

Which plans did you follow? The old Comet plans show a slightly different decal arrangement than what you have.

I made from the original old plans,blown up to give me a 26" long Heli. The B/V in the subject, stands for Barries Version as I never intended it to be a match with the R6 completley.

Hi, Tom Thanks.there is nothing special about the finish that I have achieved,I think the secrete lies in the coats of PVA white glue which drys clear and the rubbing down with wet and dry sand paper till smooth. You can achieve the same, go on have a go. Barrie.

Attention of Tom, I read with interest your posts, it would appear that you are far more advanced in model making than I am. I am retired and live in Stafford and have only started the hobby 12 months ago, and so far have only made 3 models inc. the Sikorsky Hely.
