What engine for a P-40?

Hello everyone, I recently got a 400 series P-40 warhawk that I am going to make into a control line bird. What engine should I use? Right now I am considering a .049, but I am worried about it being underpowered, though I am in no way expecting a stunt ship . The advantage of the .049 is that they are available brand new for about $40 however. BTW, I do have experience flying 1/2a control line and dealing with .049 engines.

I used a .049 Tee Dee on my 400 series Wulf. Man did that thing have a lot of power. it was a ton of fun to fly. I even had plently of weight allowance to balsa sheet the bottom of the wings with 1/16" wood. I could bring that plane right up and over me in the circle. what fun. I believe the plans recomend the .049 Medallion. this will also work well. i have the medallion engine as well and it has a lot of power too. if i had to choose between the two, i would go with the TD every single time. More torque = more fun.

Thanks for the suggestion, hopefully I can find a tee dee for a decent price. I am still considering a cox baby-bee if for whatever reason I can not get a tee dee or medallion...

The Babe Bee motor might work if you keep the build light. I had a 400 Series 190 with a Golden Bee back in the 70's. It would barely keep the 30 foot lines tight. I would also recommend the TD motor. I had a Swamp Buggy airboat that would scoot around on bare dirt with a TD.051. The TD's are contest motors with power to spare.
