By definition a kit is a set of easy to assemble parts with everything you need in one box. If you want a challenge you can join the subset of scratch builders that looks down their noses at anyone who does not manufacture every single component from raw materials.

The sooner you realize kit building is not for you the better off we will all be. Grab some sheets of balsa, a knife, hide glue, some photos you took on your last trip to the local air museum and get happy. It's that or get a visit from the crazy Mississippi squirrel of Pascagoula fame.

I don't think this is getting too far......

One thing for sure. If there had been lasers when Guillows first started out old Paul himself would have probably used the technology. As it was die cutting was the best he could do. It's just another automated process that's all. It's no harder or easier to build from a laser cut kit than a die cut one, the only fact is that it is more likley that he parts will fit and the manufacturer can use lovely light balsa that you could never die cut in a month of Sundays. In some respects the laser cutting can mean more work as you have to tickle all of the edges that are seen to stop the brown "burned" wood from bleeding through the tissue.

How many times do we have to reminded that this is a supposed to be a fun, family site!

Will you all stop the bickering, etc, and crap throwing that has been floating around here.

Its getting so tiring to come here and listen to all the little boys having pissing contests along with the bad attitudes, when all I come here for is to relieve stress, not endure more.

In this instance I am particularly talking to Steve M and Regular Guy. I want to make sure you know exactly whom is being talked to. Your both getting very tiring to listen to with your pissing matches, so give it a break already. No one cares for what your reasons are, just stop it, plain and simple. We all share the same sandbox, so play nice.

What is so hard for you just to stop it? Instead you are instant defense mode once again, and tell people to block your posts instead of you refraining from posting the crap.

Back to the subject.

According to the spares pages for the new laser cut versions the same silly 5" prop and knicker elastic is still supllied in all other than the new Beaver, the upshot is that you will still have to throw both away for rubber FF, which is disappointing given that guillows have obviously invested in the quality of the balsa and cutting.....

I started this post to let everyone know about the new laser cut kits, not debate laser cutting. You can start another thread for that if you like but lets keep this open to comment about the new kits.
Andrew, I agree with you as to why Guillows still adds the 5 inch prop? They make a 6 inch prop that works great for these kits and I doubt it would cost any more money. As far as rubber goes, I think Guillows would be better off either selling Tan rubber or referencing a place to buy it. Other than that, I will be ordering all these kits and can't wait to get started on building.
