Now to get to the fun part...
After all of the pieces were covered, including those struts, those are a real pain to cover. I also covered a couple of 1/16" square sticks with red and black before installing them on the airplane, that turned out to be a good idea. The nose has three pieces of balsa laminated together so that it can withstand more nose in landings. I made a balsa plug for the nose to move the thrust button further foward so that the prop clears the cowl. I also made a balsa plug for the back of the cowl to help it hold its shape while it was installed. I checked the ballance and only a small mount of clay was needed for ballance, it was placed in to the cowl before it was installed. After all of that it came in at 35.7 grams.
