I am not the foremost expert on this, but from my experience, I have found that putting on the parts before or after doping the model does not make much of a difference. However, if you plan to brush the dope on, you may find it easier to apply the dope if you attach the plastic parts after doping the covering.

The post title asks, how to cut the plastic parts. The plastic parts on the white molded sheet can be removed with sandpaper. Here's how: With some scissors, cut around the part, leaving a border of 1/8" or more. Doesn't really matter how much border, you just don't have to cut closely to the part. Take a piece of 220 grit sandpaper and lay it on a flat surface. Set your part down on the sandpaper and gently rub the part around in a circular motion. Just keep a light downward pressure. Soon the outer border will be sanded off, leaving just the plastic part you need. Sometimes the sheet that is used can be somewhat thin, sometimes it seems to be thicker. Either way, just take your time. After the excess border is sanded away, you might need to take a sanding block and smooth the fuzzy edge of your part.

get a decent Sanding block one of the flat rubber things like you would use on drywall
for the nose pieces use the flat block to sand back side of the part till the plastic gets thin or non existent at the bend .
cut the small pieces out and repeat for them.

ok so i cut the parts out. now just tryen to shape them. the part that goes on the propeller and the curvy vent ones. ugh the curvy ones are easy enough but the "nose cone?" is hard to do. pics would be helpful.
thanks so much for the help
