SE5 in the Air

Postby scigs30 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:57 pm

This is the second time I flew this plane and she flies great. Flight times are 30 to 45 sec on two strands of 3/16 rubber. I will try to fly her again next weekend with my Nieuport II.

Is this SE5 is on the cover of the Guillow's catalog, or am I mistaken?

Nice job Scigs. Good to see these planes flying with rubber power. Has it been in any of the magazines? Looks familar.

They used to have mine on the replacement parts page, but I don't know what happened. It's far too heavy for rubber power, and is an rc electric flyer.

I thought about making these Electric, But there are some good kits alredy our there the same size that are designed for Electric. I do feel that the more laser cut kits Guillows puts out, the more the Electrci folks will begin buying them. I built the Fokker Dr.1, but it was with the old laser cut wood and it is too heavy to fly. I ordered a newer kit and the Thomas Morse and both will be rubber.
