Guillows 28" P51 good enough for everyday flyer

Postby Bill Gaylord » Sun Apr 29, 2012 7:16 pm

Got the P51 out this evening for a flight, and was really pleased with how well this plane flies. Modified the front bottom wing formers slightly for better Phillips entry and added a few degrees washout, but otherwise pretty much off the board. The plane surpassed my expectations and could easily be a good everyday no-frills flyer. The geared inrunner definitely creates a more scale engine sound than the popular outrunners do also.

Stars and bars used for the new wing, given to me along with a Guillows Stuka kit from the 60's
