i would use a spray botle for shrinking... just a lot easier than touching a brush to every bit of surface without the risk of using way too much water or puting too much pressure down....

I agree. I normally use a spray bottle for spraying on the water for shrinking, however I didn't want any overspray on the other wing panels, so I very, very, carefully used the biggest, softest, brush I have to "paint" on the water so that I could control where it went. I did the lower half of the panel, then pinned it down and painted the upper half. In hindsight I probably could have used a piece of cardboard to keep the spray from hitting the other sections of the wing I just didn't think of it at the time

I am building one that i designed with dihedral that would require the same type of procedure as your hellcat (shrinking and doping panel by panel)

Its ok to get a little of the spray mist onto the wrong panel, as you will go back to spray it later anyways. i just use my hand to cover where the other panel meets the panel i am shrinking so that it doesnt get very wet. but a little bit of a spray will do no harm. especially around the strong joints where the dihedral is.

Next step was to apply the 50/50 Future/Water mix with a 1" foam brush. I applied coats until the tissue did not pucker when it would get wet. I started counting the coats, but I put on so many that I lost track. Next was the application of the decals after the main parts of the pland were assembled.

Next the cowl and canopy were masked and painted, I used on old can of Krylon blue that I had.

All that was left was to assemble the last parts, and install the motor.
Finally done and ballanced!

Super job goose! The sheen finish from the future floor polish over the blue tissue looks really cool.

I forgot to ask this earlier, is the stock prop OK for this kit or would a larger Peck Prop be a better match?

Ive seen people get good flights out of peck props that are larger than the kit one. This series seems to supply props that are too small for longer flights.
