KIT 307 Piper Cherokee

HELP Please from the UK.

I am in the middle of building the wings for the Piper Cherokee. This is my first Balsa model I have built in 40 years, so I am rusty to say the least. The wings are coming on fine, but the plans show a seperate piece to build, and add to the wings. The additional build uses a template for determing the Wing Tip Angle. The plans for both wings show a dotted line for Aileron seperation for top and bottom of wing. What is that all about, and where do I glue this additional piece. Appreciate anyone help on this. Frustrated UK.

Thanks for that. But what about this extra build, Is that the Aileron that I could fit rather than mark the covered wing with an Ink pen.

I have not built the Guillow Cherokee, but if it's like most Guillow models the template goes at the wing root to set the angle of the inboard most rib. The left and right wings are not flat. They are angled up some, the so called dihedral. For flying models the dihedral may have considerable more angle than the full size airplane.
Is that what you are talking about? Or is it something to do with the actual tip of each wing?

For construction photos, you might try http://www.virtualaerodrome.com Somebody might have a build thread for this model or any of the 300 series.

Or post a photo of the template here, I'm sure someone can identify what's going on.

I doubt it's an aileron, too. Only the larger models , such the 1000 series, have separate aileron plans/parts.

its just a more detailed look at the landing gear instalation. a lot of guillows plans have something like that. Use them well!
