For the most part, I only put glue where I want the tissue to stick. I know it is hard to describe, but I scallop the formers so I cannot apply glue to them. Now on my last build, the P-40. I did not scallop the formers and covered per the plans. So there I had to put glue on the formers.

Dear scigs, thankyou for your reply :D

I am trying to understand the technique you used in covering the Messerchmit. Did you apply glue on the tissue, bars or only the main middle section i.e. (half middle section we make on the plan) of the fuselage?

in the both coveing techniques, I think, the technique used in messerchmit fuselage is less time consuming and efficiant am I right? :?

The book that come with Guillows says to follow the grains on the tissu, I cant find the grains :? , What are the grains and do you follw them?

I know I am asking so many question but I am really impressed with you skills and want to adopt it so I can too make guillows kits and fly them.

Hope to hear from you soon, :D
Take care

Yasser, I used the kit that was supplied in the kit. To find the grain, tear the tissue. If it is hard to tear straight, then thats against the grain. If you tear it and it tears easily and somewhat straight, then thats with the grain. I have been covering for many years. This model was covered wet so I did not have to use many pieces of tissue. If you are not used to covering with wet domestic tissue, then I would say stay away from trying it. I would either cover in small long strips applying the glue mixture to the stringers and end formers. On this model I applied the glue to the top and bottom stringers, and end formers.

Can I ask how you manage to conceal the rear rubber band retaining pin? I have seen other postings with the pin protruding out of the sides of the fuselage so it's removeable. I have done the same not knowing how else to attach the rubber band.

The pin is not concealed when she is flying. I pull the aluminum tube "pin" out when I display or take pictures of my planes.

I painted this bird with an airbrush and Testors acrylics. I really like this series and will build them again when Guillows goes all laser. I think from now on to speed up my builds i will just cover white and apply the decals.

I know you built this one some time ago Scigs30, but I just had to say job well done to you on this Me 109! 8) Beautiful build, and final paint job to boot.
