SteveM, thanks for the info about the D and E balsa sheets. Naturally, as soon as I read it, I ran to my kit and looked to see if the error was present in mine Luckily, as it turns out, my kit has 2 D sheets, so I should be set when I finally get around to building it!

Everybody here has good points. I myself love building Guillows planes with all of their problems (bad wood, bad fitting plastic etc..) So for me it's about building a Guillows model. It brings me back to being a kid again. Yes I could scratch build and yes their are better manufacturers. But for me it's all about the kits as a whole. I personally have 20 different planes to build right now, Most are Guillows then I have a few Sterling's a couple of Easybuilts and a few others. and about a dozen set of plans to build from. But I still prefer Guillows and Sterling's. Now if I was King of Guillows I would re-release all of their planes. They could do some sort of special order type of deal. That would be real nice, wishful thinking on my part. One thing they can do is sell their plans from all of their retired and comet kits. That is something that I don't understand.

Squirlye,

You are in luck for the plans. They are all available for free on Outerzone plan service http://www.outerzone.co.uk/ and other places as well. Also DPC models sells very reasonably priced short kits (laser cut) of many of the discontinued Guillow's and Sterling kits as well as Comet. I wouldn't want Guillow's to sell the plans. That would be another cost that isn't necessary and then there would be the whole copyright issue. I own several Guillow's kits and I love having them. I do build from them from time to time. I think all of the kits are great bad wood and all.

Hey, Steve I know about outerzone I have almost all of the old WW I Guillows plans from there. I was just talking about smart business for Guillows. If I could buy any single sheet plane (printed on both sides) for $5.00 shipping included I would buy them. Think about it, I wouldn't have to get in my truck and drive into town. Go to the nearest office max or depot. And have them print me a set of plans. And not that there is anything wrong with that, I just wouldn't mind paying $5.00 for not having to go to all that trouble. Also I know that some of the guys out here know how to print out the plans on their home computers, and then tape them together. But on the other hand having the ability to resize the plans to giant or even peanut scale is cool too. just my 2 cents worth. :P

Nothing against the B-29 but why not reissue the Mosquitto?Price would be cheaper and More people would buy that. I would buy a couple of them or more!If they wont rissue these planes why not offer parts for them? Like the plastics and canopys!Ive contacted them a few times on ding the latter.I always got the thumbs down.Mark

I'm with mustangman on the mosquito. There have been several successful rubber powered Mosquitos done and thus you'd get a larger group to be interested.

I remember when the mossie came out it was at the same time as the b-26 too! My friend and I ordered them , he the b-26 and me the mossie! I still cant beleive that they discontinued the mossie but still make the B-26.He never did fly the B-26 it was built for control line two 049s babe bees I beleive.I would be soo interested in buying a new in the box mossie! Guillows must have the tooling yet but lazer cut would be nice. Maybe the dies wore out is why they quit producing them.Mark

I'm pretty sure you mean B-25. To my knowledge, Guillow's never released a B-26 kit in the 800 series.

I would rather see the Mosquito as well, or even the P-39. The 2000 series kits are nice and all that, but they are big and expensive and I'd rather have more WW2 military aircraft in the 800 series to choose from. Whenever the Mosquito is being talked about it is worth mentioning that it was kit number 804 which is now the DC-3 so some feel that was Guillow's putting the nail in the coffin of the Mosquito, but it is just a number.

I still think they should re- realease the 100 series. Even though DPC models already makes them in a laser cut kit. There is just something about a Guillows kit that I love.
