There were some nice ones in there. Some seller like Penn Valley probably has them now, and we'll see them come up at a lot more than $33 per kit.

If I had $400 dollars laying around I would have bought them and stored them as investments. It would be neat to put them up for bid 20 years from now.

Until you realize that $400 over 20 years at a lousy 5% interest rate becomes over $1000. If 20 years ago you had invested $400 in an S&P 500 index fund you'd have about $3k now. How about you give me $400 and in 20 years I buy you a set of these kits?

Interesting figures, Steve. I guess that's why they didn't get any bids.
I posted an incomplete thought because I didn't think I'd get a response like yours.
I realize an auction for those items (in year 2032) may have a higher numerical bid, but considering inflation, I would likely just break even (or worse) on their dollar value. (For all we know, the American dollar may go the way of Confederate money and we'll be using the yuan). I said "neat" because I would be curious to see the bid amount on a time capsule of then 50+ year old kits. I said "laying around" as in "with nothing better to do with" but, I do have better things to do with my money. Hence, I didn't bid.
