Learn something new every day. I guess if it was German, they would put the two dots :D over the "u" and then we would have known.

Just my thoughts...

I would shorten my wish list... if you are not an experienced builder... I for one would not attempt all that you wish for...
If you are new I would try to build "flying models" and "scale models" ... after you have built a few then build a "FLYING SCALE MODEL"
I would take one step at a time and enjoy each model build. I would start with ONE engine and go with rubber power.
On bigger models, I would go to RC...
I, myself, am just getting some success (I need to refine and trim my models) in rubber power and plan to make my first attempt at a twin engine...
My thought is a "twin" Arrow, I plan to kitbash two "Arrow" kits into something like the "Voyager" I know you want to build a scale model to fly, but I would suggest you take your time and enjoy the models... don't expect too much... and you will never be disappointed...

Just my thoughts... Have FUN and GOOD LUCK... I wish you the best... Mitch

Mitch, you set a high bar to try to meet!
I'm not really into scale, just flying really. I have got a great pipeline of kits. (I have 2 boys so I am building models with them as well as for myself).

2x 500 series Spitfires (almost done, attempt to fly them)
1x Cadet, in process
2x Javelin (not started, for the boys)
2x 500 series Hurricane (not started, for the boys)
1x Arrow (not started)
1x 400 series Zero (not started)
1x Lightning (started 30 years ago!)
1x DPCM SE5A (not started)
1x Mosquito

All Guillows, except the SE5A, which I would have been happy to buy from Guillow if they still made the 100 series.
I mostly want to focus on rubber power, but the Zero may be .020 powered. Electric power - interesting, but a little more complex and kinda lends itself to R/C in a way. Electric FF - don't know if people do that.. plane might fly away!

I must say I am glued to Ebay these days. I kinda agree with Scigs30 that purchasing laser cut models is a smart thing to do, but ... I've seen some nice deals on ebay I could not pass up. I'll grind down my list, and get ready for a new 400 series...P51!

cheers, Steve

Well, I couldn't be happier; I received the model today and it truly is new in box, wrapper still on! Like a time capsule.

Just thought I would mention,

I wrote customer service a note, asking if they still had any replacement parts for the Mossie. They stated no. I had hoped there might still be a chance to get plastic since I am quite nervous about ruining the ones I have. Anyhow, that is that.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. fingers crossed.

cheers,

There's a guy named Phil who goes by Smokin' Beaver on RCGroups, who makes plaster molds of his Guillows plastic parts, for exactly that reason. I believe he has info in some of his threads on what he uses to get the parts to release, etc. The part shapes will generally lend themselves to molding, as they had to release from a vacuum forming mold initially. Of course a vacuum molding station would have to be built to ever make the parts, but it would be nice to have the molds. I would consider doing it, if I were to ever get my hands on one of these kits. Even further, you could make parts with lighter weights using slightly thinner plastic. Guillows clear parts aren't bad, but the white plastic parts are a bit heavy for a small flying model. Heavy molded parts such as the Sig canopies are what got me into molding parts in the first place. 10 grams or so was just too heavy for small, standard type warbird canopy on a 20"-30" model.
