Nice covering work there Joe. Is the striping pre-printed or applied?

Straight tissue paper (cheap stuff from target)

I took a straight edge and got the right width of stripe that I wanted , cut the tissue paper to length, then I painted the tissue with some super thinned out white glue to get it wet and let the strip pre shrink and DRY, then peeled it up off the "backing material " (wax paper) then applied a bit of water to re activate the glue and applied just like you would do pin striping on a car.

I gotta Seal the model (have to run to the GOOD LHS on York Road to get supplies) and I gotta build a nose block for under the cowl. Put the windows on. Throw the landing gear on the wings, and install the wings. Those are done with blue from the LE to the 1st stringer and a red stripe down the 1st stringer and white underside and back edge. I got a piece of cheapo aluminum for the rubber band post and I THINK with 4-6 loops of 1/4 inch tan on a 6 inch prop, I can get 30-45 seconds of flight.

I used a full cell to hold the peg AND behind that holding the rod in place is 2 chunks of 1/8th plywood and those are glued right to the former AND the ribs AND the cell block. There is also a scrap 1/8th by 1/8th brace holding the wings together as an insurance that the wings STAY ON.

The wings themselves are assembled and covered with the exception of the wing tips. I do not want to install the wings till I have the nose block and cowl assembly, the motor, landing gear and the windows installed Right now I am kind of wishing I had made an extra fuselage pass through for a 2nd heavy wing spar, closer to the LE of the wings making a much more stable structure for the wings to fit to the fuselage with. 1 point of support allows for rotation of the wing on the plane while drying. 2 points of contact keeps the wings straight and level on the plane.

Don't smash it up like you said you would.
Time is more expensive than cost.
Take time to repair the mistake. I'm forever doing that
Good luck

Installing windows is definitely not my favorite area of modeling. What makes them worse, is that if you're not completely happy with them, you will keep staring at whatever you don't like, which exaggerates it. I've been putting a good bit of thought into how I'm going to apply the windows to the American Gyro Crusader that I'm working on now, which won't be an easy one.

Well I ruined a bit of the tissue job on the nose. the roof.
I think its recoverable. It just wont be as GOOD as I had done.
I used Testor's canopy glue and it just wasn't satisfactory.

I am decidedly not happy the way the windows on the side looked.

Finally got the Wings and Windshield and windows in.

Down to the wing tips and the Landing Gear. Might add some color detail to the Nose Cowl.

Any ideas on how I should do the Cowl and the wing tips?

I'd use the tissue. Mask off the parts of the cowling that are to be white, Then scuff up the unmasked portion with 320 or 400 paper used DRY. Then your white glue mix. Should come out right
