SKYRAIDER CANOPY

Postby UPLANDBOY » Mon Jun 10, 2013 5:35 pm

GUILLOW'S SKYRAIDER CANOPY is a two piece affair. The canopy must be cut into two pieces and then glued into one canopy. Does any one have a method to do this neatly and cleanly while obtaaining the width where it joins the fuselage?

My method is to use some of the excess clear plastic, cut into a long strip. This plastic strip is glued along the joint of the two halves, making a overlapping patch. Make sense?

With the two piece canopy it's hard to make it look good. The plastic strip running along the seam helps give the two halves something to adhere to and making the canopy width with somewhat adjustable.

You could make your own canopy. It's not that hard to do. Take a look at Mike Stuart's Free Flight web site.
Plunge molding canopies.
