Where the laser cut kits?

Postby scigs30 » Thu Oct 31, 2013 2:02 pm

I saw on Guillows website that the kit prices are going to go up this winter, does that mean they are going to be laser cut? I want to convert some of the larger kits to RC but no way am I going to spend 80 bucks on a die crushed kit........I converted the laser cut P40, man she is a nice flyer on electric.

Where on the Guillow's site does it say that prices are going up? (I was browsing there earlier today and didn't see any kind of notice.) I'd love to see both the 800 and 1000 series re-done as laser cut.

Hmm, it is no longer there. It was in the upper area under red.

With prices going up, and I know they have to eventually, I think we can all use the Guillow's Parts Dept more. If I had 100 dollars to spend that would get me two 400 series models at the LHS (almost). Or I could buy three of the same kits from AC Supply (orders of 100 dollars shipped free) Or I could be careful, save my plans, and buy A,B,C sheets from Guillow's, and a canopy, and that 100 dollars would be enough to build 5 models. Of course that's assuming you don't mind building the same model again. I fly mine, and with "Battle Damage" I need fresh planes for more "Air Combat" Mitch

The reason that the message disappeared is that the prices have already gone up. For example, the 300 series kits went up by $1 from $26.99 to $27.99. Check the web site. I don't think that the price increases were as great as you feared. They know that they have to keep their price point within the market.

David,

They are brand new in the sealed box. If you don't mind die cut, they still have some left the prices are a few dollars cheaper. I was planning on building another Edge 540... Minimum parts required from Guillow's Parts Department to build model = 18.00 Price of new kit from AC Supply 17.30 You decide

The next time my shopping list gets up to 100 dollars, I will place another order with AC, and buy 2 more Edges. I plan to make more colorful planes... just wish I started them sooner and had a few entries in the "Challenge"...
