I have not built the DC-3 but, if you post a couple of pictures of the part and the plans, I'm sure someone can help you.

I'm building one of these right now!

I'm currently working on all of the plastic bits, but I've finished the wood assemblies; what's the issue that you're having with the rudder?

The problem I have is that I`m ready to sand the Fin/Rudder assy profile .When viewed from below I e R16 on build sheet do I follow that profile over the whole assy in which case it will remove the overlap of the horizontal stringers on the trailing edge of the rudder which are still shown on the build sheet .
In other words how thick is the trailing edge of the rudder?
Similarly when viewed from rear what is the profile in the vertical plane - how thick is the top of the fin and leading edge because the build sheet shows virtually a feather edge in both cases which again will remove all traces of the horizontal and vertical stringers and the angular ones at the hinge line .
Your help and perhaps a photo would be most appreciated .

i have yet to build the C-47, but the process looks very similar to the tail on my Stearman PT-17. I have noticed. from seeing pictures of C-47 builds, that if you dont sand the rudder profile correctly, that IMHO it makes the whole model not right. I hate when they are left too thick.
