Newbie Intro and Vintage Models for Sale

Postby vintagetreasures » Mon Mar 31, 2014 9:42 am

Good Morning Gentlemen...
This is my first post to the Model Builders Forum. My personal hobby of choice is collecting vintage baseball cards. I spend hours each week on a similar message board that it is devoted to avid sportscard collectors. However I learned about this forum from a fellow card collector. In addition to my baseball card passion, I dabble in other vintage items including toys, dolls, and trains.

I recently purchased a large estate that included close to a dozen vintage, un-assembled balsa airplane models from the 1950's-1970's. I had already posted them individually on Ebay for auction before coming across this helpful message board. If you are interested in checking them out please follow the link below.

In the future, I will post information on here about other vintage models I come across versus posting them on Ebay.

Also, In the future, I think I will keep one or two models for myself and use the advice given on this board to try and assemble them myself. It seems like it would be a fun hobby and a great way to make some additional message board friends and hobbyists.

Here are a couple of the item links if interested. (All the vintage balsa models opening bids are .99 with no reserves)

Welcome, and I hope you choose to build some of these models soon. The 1002 Stuka is not rare, and still produced, and hopefully soon to be made in laser cut. But a starting price of $.99 is very nice indeed. I built one many years ago for RC, and just bought another one recently and plan to build it for FF rubber power. I would bid on yours but am going aboard my ship in 4 days, so I will pass on that. I will start a build thread on my Stuka, as I believe these 1000 series are rarely made for FF rubber power. I hope you follow along and get excited to build some of these models for yourself.

After spending many hours the last couple days reading posts and seeing pictures on this forum, I am very excited to attempt to build a model or two for myself. Seems like a very fun, but challenging hobby.
