Paul K. Guillow, Inc. Balsa Wood Airplanes FOKKER DR-1 TRIPLANE

"You know that red airplane with 3 wings? Your Grandson Liam needs one of those for his bedroom..."

--My beautiful, and highly intelligent Daughter-In-Law, Crystal Parker

I hope that Liam enjoys this thing as much as I enjoyed building it for him!

Very nice Mr. Parker. I'm sure he will treasure it. Will it fly? I have been having alot of problemns with wind on these FF planes of 50g's or less. I really like it Bill Did you use tissue,or silk?

Thanx for the kind words, guys!

I covered it in Lite Silkspan. I have declared a tissue free zone here, as it seems that I can make silkspan work, and tissue, not so much. The paint is Walmart rattle can, at $1.58 a can...

It would probably fly, if balanced and trimmed. It all can out surprisingly straight. One day, I'm going to build one of these, and send it out west to KittyFritters, and see if he can do anything with it in that gymnasium that his club flies in...

I put lots of rubber in it, (4 strands) but only so the boy's Dad can wind her up a bit and spin the prop...
