Here are some photos of the 2014 "G" Challenge winners.
The overall winner was David Scigliano with a Lancer. He got and 83.33 appearance score, and a great 136 flight score for a total of 219.33 points.
The appearance winner was Dennis Hurlbert with a Fly boy. His appearance score was 90.66 with a flight score of 108 for a 198.66 total and third over all.
The one you have to see is Orv Olm's entry. He only got a 3 second test glide out of it before the deadline and was fourth over all in the appearance competition. But, if there had been a charisma prize, this would have won it!

2015 Guillows "G" Challenge Rules
"Sixteen and Twenty-four Challenge"
Here are the rules for the 2015 Guillows "G" Challenge

1. Eligibility:
a. The "G" Challenge is open to anyone in the world.
b. There is no entry fee.
c. You must have a Yahoo ID and join the Yahoo "G" Challenge group.

d. This group and the Challenge were created and are maintained by its moderator for the enjoyment of Guillow's model enthusiasts and has no official
connection with Paul K. Guillow, Inc.
2. Prizes:
a. There are three first prizes for 2015, Overall Appearance and Flying, Best Appearance, and Best Electric Free-Flight or R/C Conversion.
b. A Guillow's kit prize will be awarded to each first prize winner
c. You may enter more than one model.
d. All models will be judged for appearance. A rubber powered model is considered for the Overall
prize simply by posting a flying time for it in the entry database. Electric Free-Flight and R/C conversions must post a video of at least a one minute flight.
3. Eligible models:
a: The 2015 Challenge is for any Guillow's 1:16 scale or 1:24 scale kit.

4. Structure:
a. The model must be built with the kit wood and plastic parts from the kit.
b. The nose of the model may be modified to make the thrust line more
adjustable, for ease of winding and maintaining a rubber motor or electric motor and batteries.
c. Dethermalizers of the pop tail, speed brake, or spoiler types may be added to rubber powered prevent flyaways. (See Notes)
5. Propellers and Power:
a. Rubber or electric power only.
b. Any suitable propeller, shaft and thrust button may be used for rubber power.
c. AMA safety rules apply. No metal propellers.
6. Time Limits:
a. The Challenge starts as soon as the rules are posted.
b. The deadline for finishing the model and posting pictures and flying time is November 15 2015.
7. Posting Entries:
a. Entries are posted at the "G" Challenge group on Yahoo:

b. An album, 2015 Challenge Entries, will be set up for posting pictures.
c. Post a 3/4 front view and 3/4 rear view jpeg image of the model, clearly identified with your name. The images should have at least 720 X 480 resolution with 1024 X 768 desirable. Note: Yahoo will reduce the resolution of any larger image to about 800 X 680 on upload.
d. Do not post anything but your entry photos in the 2015 Challenge Entries album. Create a personal album for progress pictures.
e. A database, 2015 Challenge Entries will be set up for the flight times and short comments about model. After you post your pictures make an entry in the database.
f. Electric Free-Flight and R/C conversion modelers must post a link to a video in a message in the Conversations section of the group. The video must show a flight of at least one minute duration.
e. Ten additional appearance points will be added to the score for any model if it is a model of a specific, real airplane. To qualify for the additional points a photo or detail drawing (from an internet source) must be posted in the 2015 Challenge Entries album along with the photos of the model.
8. Judging:
a: Appearance judging will be on the basis of 100 possible points for appearance.
b. The flying points for rubber powered models are awarded on the basis of the best three flights made by the model before the Challenge deadline. The time of each flight is entered in the database and the points per flight are awarded as follows.
20 to 40 seconds.......each second = one point.
41 to 94 seconds.......each second = one half point.
Over 94 seconds...no additional points...bragging rights.
Maximum possible flying points = 201 (3 flight total).
c. The staff at Guillow has kindly volunteered to do the appearance judging from the posted photographs. Their scores are final.
d. When all the appearance point scores have been received by the moderator the results will be posted in a database, 2014 Challenge Results.
e. The Electric Free-Flight and R/C Conversion prize is a separate appearance competition. We already know they can fly! Any Electric Free-Flight or R/C conversion model without a posted video proving flight will be judged in the regular appearance judging.
