Was going to use a brushed parkzone motor and brick, but think I'm going to try a brushless motor and a Spektrum 6335 2g Rx I have.

All That Bracing adds a lot of weight. On the Olan, the balance point is near 60% behind the LE. Any One know why?

I will post photos later when I have time to resize them. I have been using My Fairchild as a kind of proof of concept model. I am building a larger Kit that uses a Pull_Pull rudder setup, and I never did one before so I learned on a much more disposable kit. I can not believe I just started using pull-pull. It is so perfect and precise in moving the rudder. not even a hint of binding, and it weighs nothing!. its a piece of string instead of a metal rod! I can see the advantage of easier to hook up a steering tail wheel also. And although My Fairchild is not going to win any beauty contests; I know it will Fly. I used to finish detail My Planes completely before I even Maiden flew it, but I have since learned that It is wise to get it to Fly, and then Scale detail and paint It. I wasted a lot of hours painting and the like only to crash on a first test Fly. The Fairchild is a light Plane (if You strip off The details.Wheel pants,etc...)for a Guillows kit,and it was almost in perfect balance before I modified anything. So I think it would be a good Rubber motor candidate. I even got the washout added correctly on this one. But Pull-Pull is where it's at Guys. Try it if You have not,and You will be amazed.

Are you using the Guillows control line string for pull-pull? Used it on a few models. I found it's good to pre-stretch it first. I built a 16" Dumas Peashooter using the setup with Toki micro servos, before the micro boards were available.

I hung the thread from a lamp with a weight tied to one end to stretch it before installation. I did use the Guillows Nylon thread.

(Flate plate airfoils can generate surprising amounts of lift, especially at low Re.)

Does any one know why I can not see some photos? But anyway; Fairchild is ready i hope. AUW with 300mah2s battery Is 140g or 5.0oz. I can easily use a smaller 250 Mah batt and shave off 10g, but I think it will Fly. I jusyt did the math and here is what I got. .7sq.ft wing area, 7.1 oz. per sq. foot wing loading, and around 13mph stall speed. I am using an Ares 180 2300 kvBL motor with a 5.9"x2.75 prop, and I have both 250 and 300 Mah 7.4V batteries. Oh and a 6Amp HURC ESC , 3 Channel, and a Spektrum 4chDSMX Rx. Any one thinks ,or sees Me making a mistake; Please speak out:

I made a cowl and kept plenty of airflow room. The motor and controls are doing good in testing so far. I got a good feeling on this one. I will be leaving off many of the scale details for now. I just want to finally make one of these things that Flys good !
