I'm building an SE 5 and have covered models for decades. For the first time I experienced tissue tear (on the leading edge) when covering the top surface of a wing. (The opening on the rib was my fault; not enough overlap.)
However this is the first time I've used Easy Built Lite tissue and UHU glue stic. I thought I aligned the grain of the tissue with the long dimension of the wing (I used sight and tear test - grain seemed to run the long way on the 20 x 30 sheet). The top of the wing was covered in 3 pieces (I had successfully covered the bottom with tan tissue and shrunk that). I misted the top last evening and found the tears this AM. I'll remove all of the top tissue and redo.
What do I need to do differently?
