Greetings all. Are we allowed to post links to other sites? There is a great lot of stuff that we could share but it isnt all Guillows based. I dont want to make anyone mad. Also, on the far left of the screen , on the home page, there is a symbol in a circle that sometimes shakes. What is that? Thanks.

I don't think there are any rules posted about links to other sites. I think linking to competitor sites is not too considerate. This is a Guillow company hosted forum. However linking to sites like SFA or Virtualaerodrome I think are just fine. My 2 cents.
And I have know idea what that symbol means, the one that looks like a cow bell rattling.

Like supercruiser said, there are no posted rules but linking to a competitor would be considered rude. That said, I have linked to Easy Built Models before when discussing covering tissue, UHU glue, and other non-kit related material. Otherwise, as long as your posts are on topic there should be no issues.

Some examples of posts that I consider off topic:
- How do I strip paint from my plastic model?
- Can anyone help me with this Dumas kit?
- Politics, religion, and all other non-modeling related issues

Some examples of posts we have had before that I consider on topic:
- The wood in my Guillow's kit sucks
- How to cover a plane
- How to paint a plane
- Customer support has been slow to answer for me
- Glues to use

So as you can see, the general idea is that the info discussed is relevant to someone building a Guillow's model. I supposed that now means questions about the foam ARFs they just released are ok too.

The rattling cow bell icon is listed in the legend at the bottom of the main page.

There are some basic terms of use posted by Mark in one of the sticky announcement posts.

Terms of Use: This message board has been put up to bring Guillow modelers closer together, letting you ask each other building questions or give flight trimming, painting hints . . .etc. When using this message board, please refrain from profanity and be courteous in your postings to the other modelers. Any mis-use of this board will at the very least result in your messages being taken off the listings and at worst may cause us to stop providing this message service. Keep it clean and enjoy talking to the other builders . . . there’s no better advice your going to get than from your fellow modelers that are involved in the same balsa model airplane construction hobby as you.

Also, from another sticky announcement post on posts by spam bots.
Guillow's really wants to keep this board used for discussion of model airplane making only and we will do all we can to keep out these unwanted spam replys and postings.

Thank you guys for clearing that up. I wanted to post a link to a forum that I haunt alot. There is a guillows p 40 that I built and a couple others the the other people built. The forum is not brand specific. I dont want to lead anyone away, but I have alot of links to places that can answer F.A.Q.
