Hey Bill

When are you going to an enlarged Guillow's multi-engine bomber?
B-25
B-24
B-17
B-29

I think the B-25 would be a good one. Any plans on doing one?

Thank you for inviting me to share my thoughts on this!

I have the B-17 kit right here on the shelf, and as winter is coming, (in Houston winter means working in the garage is comfortable, and the humidity is generally low) I thought I'd go ahead and build the kit. Then we could blow up the plans for it. BUT. This thing will have a near 12 foot wing span when finished, so I'll need to ship the finished plane to your house for hanging on your ceiling.... (not joking)

What I'd really like to do is blow the b-29, but to date haven't been able to get my paws on the plans. If somebuddy has the plans ans and can scan em up for me, I'll build it big and give you the plane. Was watching a WWII show on teewee the other night, and they showed green over black paint jobs on b-29 doing firebomb raids over southern Japan. I'm bored with the generic silver paint jobs on b-29's so...

Can't remember off the top of my head how big the b-25 is out of the box, but seems like it is only like 28 inch wingspan. Blown 3:1 is 84" and fairly manageable. Anything bigger with a single-piece wing is really hard to do, as the tables have to be set up too long. Rules are, the car has to sleep IN the garage around here, so having a big wing taking up too much space for too long is a bad thing. The b-17, I happen to know is a two-piece wing, so no perspiration. Anybuddy know if the b-29 is one or two piece?

The b-24 would also be a gas to build. who has plans, and who is willing to learn how to scan em up properly?

I am standing by to go to Home Depot!

Oddly enough, I do have a vaulted living room ceiling that is big enough to hang the B-17 in!
Wouldn't that just tickle the wife's fancy!

I have the plans for the B-25, and I have a B-17 kit to build yet. i f you want the plans, drop me a pm with your address for mail.

But I do not have the B-24 or B-29. There is a few folks around here with those plans I am sure.

Thank you for your offer.

Simply put, I would need you to scan ALL the paper that comes with the kit. ALL the scans have to be the same size though. Set-up your scanner to scan 8.5 by 11 inches, and then don't change that size again while scanning. Keep shooting scans until you have all of it.

Then you can zip up the files and let me know you have em. We'll make a plan from there. Either e-mail, or upload to a server. (I got lots of em)...

Can hardly wait to see the build. Nice to see it might pose a bit of a challenge too, as it seems you were getting bored with others being somewhat easy.......... :lol:

P-39 Wingspan: 84"
Spitfire Wingspan: 76"
F7F (DIELS ENGINEERING) Wingspan: 84"

plans waiting to be printed:

B-25 Wingspan: 84"
ZERO Wingspan: 74"
P-40 Wingspan: 84"
FW-190 Wingspan: 78"
MOSQUITO Wingspan: 90"
B-17 Wingspan: 135"

I'm leaning towards the Spitfire as:

a.. It's already printed
b.. I WANT to build the curved wing
c.. My neighbor wants to hang it in his garage

I can however be persuded otherwise, maybe...

Hi guys,

First time poster so please forgive the intrusion.

Bill, I've just checked your website and you've got some great builds on there. But you've already done the Spitfire, so I'd would suggest that you need another challenge

And as a Brit, and like Xanadu a fan of multi engined planes, I'd have to plump for the Mossie. That's one bird I haven't seen too much of in scale. And as the original was made of a plywood made from balsa and birch, you'd be keeping the build historically authentic as well.

Maybe I missed it, but I didnt see a b-17 on the list of finished craft.
That would be my suggestion. Best to build whatever your inspired to build.

A multi-engine bomber for sure, but its a had toss up between the B-25 and Mossie.....

My vote would go for the B-25............

But would also like to see the Mossie, and B-17 as well. The B-17 would be a whopper to say the least!
