What model kits would you like Guillow to come out with ??

Hey builders,

New "member" here, I have built quite a few of Guillow's models and am looking for something new from them. Got me thinking what airplane would I like them to make a model of next ????

I know they make scale aircraft models and I DO like to build them with scale realism, but I want to fly my models also ..... so I was thinking maybe some "bush planes" like a Pilatus Porter PC-6, DHC-2 Beaver or a Stinson 108-2 would be cool. :D

Great flying real airplanes that would be fun to build and just rubber power around a field .... or even convert over to electric R/C.

Just thought I'd say "Hi" to the board and throw the question out there .... what do ya'all think !?!? If you dont like my suggestions, what would you like to build next. :?: :?: :?

I would love to see an Albatros and Pfalz in the 200 WWI series.
A bumblebee isn't supposed to fly but does.
My plane is supposed to fly but doesn't.
Balances out doesn't it : )

how about a 195 cessna an old gull wing stinson, aeronca sedan rearwin cloudster in the 1000 series size.

I'd like to see some more high quality smaller scale stuff.

For example, I'd love to have a DC-3 on my desk, but I don't have room for a 35" wingspan plane.

But like many people here, I have my hands full for now. :)

At riskof being laughed at or scorned :wink: , I would like to see a USA company produce some electric ARF's. All balsa (Great Planes), all foam (GWS) or a mix of both (SIG). I would like to buy American, sadly the only American mfg's are super scale and/or way over-priced. I like building them but with a GP DR1 going for under $100 I am hard pressed not to buy them.

Make the glider kit the same scale as the Guillow's DC-3... Then build the DC-3 as a C-47 and convert it to 5 channel electric... Okay... Now rig up a tow line for the glider kit that you already converted to 3 channel R/C... Your C-47's fifth channel would disconnect your towline, and your partner flies the glider... KEWL, huh?

I would like to see them reintroduce sum of the old Comet kits.Like the Phantum Fury, Aeronca K,Piper Cub,Sitson SR-7 from the old 3200 series.Or Sparky ,the 20 inch Douglas SBD-3, Corsair, Vultee Vengence from the 3400 series.I am very nostalgic toward old Comet kits.

I have always loved to build the 400 series. Just slap a 049 babe bee on front and fly them control line. Been doing it since I was 14. Now I am 50. I have always wanted to see a Hawker Hurricane in the 400 series. Why is this so impossible?
When it comes to Guillows Kits, the sky is the limit. Do not be afraid to envision your project flying high; just change what needs to be altered to let it fly and look well. I built my first Guillows kit when I was 9 in 1967, and still going strong.

I've had some serious conversations with some of the people at Guillow's about bringing out new models and returning discontinued ones to the line, but it always comes back to economic justification. For example, do you laser cut, with slower production at a higher cost per kit, or will the kit be popular enough to justify making a set of dies ($8000 to $10,000 per set). For that matter, do current sales justify keeping a model in the line if the dies are wearing out and need to be replaced? Anyway, we can give them our input and hope that some of it makes business sense.

Slightly off topic but, what does a small laser cuter cost?
I can get CNC dies made pretty cheap if I provide an autocad or partmaker file.
