Where and how to fly?

Postby Sgt.Squirrel » Tue Jul 27, 2010 2:56 pm

Where should you fly a 600 or 700 series guillows kit? How much space do you need? My local park isn't that large and it is surrounded by trees so...
Also, how do you make a plane fly in circles, so it doesn't fly off like my last model? I'm planning to build the javelin and fairchild as flying models, all stock. :D

This question is the crux of free flight.

The answer is longer than could be posted here. In summary the balance of differential wash in, prop thrust angle and rudder setting will give you nice circular flights. This can take ages to get right. This one took me several hours of messing around to get right....

I recommend that you give Don Ross's book a read. Guillows sell it..
