Here are some pictures of my Hellcat build. I used quality wood and different tissue. This model came out light and flies well.

That is a very nice looking plane. What kind of tissue did you use, and where did you get it? I am beginning my Hell Cat build this weekend and want to use blue tissue to fly.

I'm hoping to fly this one, but will have to wait until the weather improves and I can pluck up the courage to launch my latest creation into the big blue yonder, gulp!

Did you make any modifications so that it is light enough to fly? If so what modifications did you make?

No I didn't make any modifications in the way of lightening the wood etc, but I did build it with removeable undercarriage.

Thanks John, I got them from here http://www.galaxymodels.co.uk/new/results.asp?subt=Wheels/Undercarriage - they're the light weight 26mm sponge wheels. I actually bought them before I decided to build the Hellcat with removeable undercarriage, to save weight, but thought they looked the part so decided to use them anyway.

Looks sharp. Really like the detail work with the radio antenna, tailwheel, and such.
