Spoke to Mark, today. They're not the biggest company in the world and don't have as much staff as they would like to put on the project, but it's still in the works. I suggest patience.

There may be a few of us that kept original plans and ordered the wood from England. How hard would it be for Guillows to set up and offer decal sets for the top vote getters?

How hard would it be? Offering decal sets is not a profit center for them, putting a series of kits back into production is. It's also an effort that has to be justified by demand and market.

Getting the decal sets printed is just one of the many things they have to do to get these back into kit. The parts layouts need to be redrawn, (You don't layout the cut sheets for laser cutting the same way you do for die cutting...at least if you are doing it right.), there must be test cutting and building to make sure the laser cut parts go together right, the plans and building instructions must be edited, (There will be some changes even if minor.), and then you build another one to test the building instructions, printing of the plans and instructions must be sourced, (Is the same company doing their printing?), packaging designed and sourced, (Fresh, new graphics at very minimum the plates will have to be re-edited with the words "Laser Cut", and, again is the same company doing their printing?), the molds for the plastic parts must be dug out of storage, checked for damage and cleaned (They might need new ones.), advertising designed and distributed, catalogs changed, etc., etc., etc.

You get the idea? It's very different from drawing one up and building it for your self. And, we're talking about doing this process for several models. You can trust me on this one, I've done it.

If memory serves,these kits came with red,hard plastic trim parts(cowlings,etc.)is my memory correct?If so,what would come with these kits?

I would like to see in the replacement service all the discontinued vacform parts be available and not for an ungodly sum of money either, we support guillow and they have all the molds

Problem with that is that the 400 series and the 1000 series models are all 1:16 scale. The Corsair is a large fighter (It is actually larger than the F7U. The mantis like deck stance of the Cutlass makes it look larger.). Guillow decided to make the larger, single engine, WW2 airplanes in the more detailed 1000 series. To make a 400 series Corsair they would have to produce a stripped down version of the 1000 series kit. Doesn't make any business sense.

Remember, they have multiple product lines. They are not a large company and have to allocate resources to, basically, one project at a time. I'm sure some news will be forthcoming.

More of the 1000 series planes at least they are big enough to power up and use electronics and servos on without needing a microscope!!!!!!!

A number of modelers have taken the plans for the Beaver and Porter and enlarged them to build RC models. They are 1:24 scale. Enlarged to 1:16 scale the Beaver has a 36 inch wing span and the Porter 40.5. One fellow enlarged the Porter plans to 6 foot wingspan and quite successfully built and flew the model.
