Back in the day when circuit boards were made by hand with tape and film, they had a nice flat black matte tape to make the board traces. I still have some 1/16" left that I use occasionally, but it is too wide for most stuff. It's adhesive is tacky (a lot of ripping and replacing was going on) so a little glue is still required. It has a nice look though. Anyway, I don't even know if its still made, but it was available in graphic arts stores.
